MRNG (a.k.a. Mr. Nice Guy) is a live electronic music collaboration created by Jerrett Rosario, David Hunter and Rafael Peñaloza.
MRNG got their start in 2009 when founding members, Jerrett Rosario & David Hunter formed an event production company in San Diego. Rafael joined the group two years later in 2011. They hosted events in the historic Gaslamp District & help revitalize what is now a flourishing electronic music scene. After building a solid reputation in the community, they earned a residencies at several venues in San Diego including, House of Blues, Bassmnt Nighclub, Fluxx Nightclub, Hardrock Hotel & Omnia. MRNG, has had the opportunity to support the world’s most popular producers & Dj’s including, Showtek, Borgore, Rusko, Nero, Steve Aoki, Crookers and Crizzly. MRNG has worked with several event production companies including Eventvibe, Life in Color, Tiesto’s College Invasion Tour, Insomniac Events & Hakkasan.
Even though their first EP was not released until early 2017, MRNG has not been a stranger to Beatport. The first release was with Dirty Duck Audio in 2013. In 2014, the group received acclaim for their smash-hit remix of Martin Garrix’s “Animals,” featured on blogs such as ThisSongSlaps.com, where it reached #1 spot on their charts. In 2015, their track “Switch” climbed Beatport’s Hip-Hop charts to #25. Later that year they released “Phoenix,” which was featured by the web’s most popular dance music blog and record label, EDM.com. “Phoenix” climbed the Glitch-Hop charts to #37. With new music releases coming this year, an upcoming tour and support from some of the biggest blogs and record labels, MRNG is quickly making a name for themselves.
